About The Balmoral

Originally built in 1902 as the North British Hotel, the Balmoral has provided elegant and sophisticated accommodation in Edinburgh for over a century. The building’s distinctive clock tower is a landmark in the city, and as the hotel is adjacent to the main railway station, the clock is traditionally set two minutes fast to ensure that people don’t miss their trains.

Number One is an acclaimed Michelin-starred restaurant, featuring an inspired menu that uses the finest fresh Scottish ingredients. The stylish brasserie Hadrian’s features 1930s art deco styling and serves classic cuisine in a more relaxed atmosphere. NB’s Bar is a traditional Scottish bar, with local food and live Scottish music. The Bar at Palm Court offers all-day dining and afternoon tea.
