Top Incentive Attractions

Toronto is a city made for walking, and there’s no shortage of options for those willing to pound the pavement.  The Royal Ontario Museum has a ROMwalks programme throughout the summer that offers guided tours of neighbourhoods from the entertainment district to the Danforth.  Alternatively, to visit the nooks and crannies of places like Chinatown, Yorkville and Rosedale, there’s no shortage of bike-rental options, with bike lanes starting from the hotel’s location in Bloor Street.
Harbour and Island cruise tours are the ideal way to relieve the day’s stresses and there are five cruises a day offering one-hour narrated tours of the harbourfront and the Toronto Islands.  For a real thrill, board the Kajama, a three-masted 164-foot schooner for a 90-minute cruise.
Or for those wanting more action, the boating centre at the harbourside offers rental of sailboats, powerboats, canoes and kayaks.
Toronto is obsessed with golf, as evidenced by its more than 75 public courses within an hour’s drive of downtown.  The Glen Abbey Golf Club championship course is one of the most famous in Canada.  Designed by Jack Nicklaus, the par-73 layout traditionally plays host to the Canadian Open.

About The Windsor Arms

Grand, venerable, and discreetly tucked away behind chic Bloor Street, the Windsor Arms is small but perfectly formed, and is the ultimate in intimate venues, synonymous with luxury and exquisite service.
Originally built in 1927, the Windsor Arms closed in 1991 only to be substantially remodelled in 1999.  All but two of the 28 guestrooms are suites, which combine modern technology with old-world elegance.
The neo-Gothic exterior of the original Windsor Arms has been painstakingly reconstructed to evoke a bygone age of grace and refinement and the hotel occupies four floors of a 15-floor building, where the other 11 floors house high-priced condos.
Located in the ritzy Yorkville area, this discreet small luxury hotel offers guests Toronto’s only caviar and champagne lounge, a dance and live entertainment club, a luxury spa and an indoor pool, complete with poolside fireplace.
Shopping and entertainment are only steps away with the Windsor Arms located just south of Bloor Street.

Luxury Hotel Facilities

Step through the Gothic portals and you will find a luxurious, two-storied lounge, richly panelled in dark oak and offering 26 suites and two luxury rooms across four floors of this deluxe boutique hotel.
The Courtyard café offers traditional French cuisine, with fabulous buffet brunches served on Sundays.  The chefs table in the kitchen features a stove top table and offers a unique culinary experience.
Traditional tea is served daily in what becomes the evening haunt of Toronto’s only caviar and champagne bar.
Unbelievably stylish, Club 22 even has a separate cigar lounge to keep the air clean for the health conscious models that hang out in the bar.  It may be small, but it revels in sophistication and is an ideal place to enjoy lunch, dinner or afternoon cocktails with live entertainment nightly.
Located on the fourth and fifth floors, The Spa features a pool, sauna, steam room, gym, hair salon and individual treatment rooms offering a full range of aesthetic services.  To use at your convenience during your stay, the hotel’s personal trainer will give you best professional advice and create a training programme just for you.

Room Options

The Windsor Arms features 26 suites and two luxury rooms ranging from 500 to 1,500 square feet, all furnished to the same outstanding level of comfort, with every creature comfort.  The largest is the Windsor Suite spanning 1,500 square feet and featuring a dining table seating six, two bathrooms and fireplaces in the den and bathroom.  Some suites also feature a private conference room.
All beds are vast and swathed in linens from Frette and the generously sized bathrooms, all with separate shower stalls and whirlpool tubs, have limestone floors and walls with under-floor heating, stacks of thick white towels, bathrobes and amenities from Darphin of Paris.
Furnished with mahogany and lush wall coverings the suites are equipped with three telephones, dual lines and data ports, high-speed internet access, individually controlled lighting, windows that open and spacious closets.  Every suite has a unique “butler’s cupboard” allowing guests a place for laundry, shoes to be shined or room service trays to be set, so that the hotel’s butler service may retrieve or return them without ever disturbing your peace.
All the suites feature state-of-the-art individually controlled sound system, with a bedside control console to control lights, VCR, AM/FM radio, CD and DVD and there are also separate control panels on the bedroom and bathroom to allow different music selection simultaneously.
Whatever your choice of guestroom or suite, the 24-hour room and butler service will ensure your stay is truly memorable.

Dining at The Windsor Arms

So impressive is the décor of the vast dining room that it alone makes a visit worthwhile. Bronze Doric columns, faux windows, balconies, and hedges give the three-storey limestone walls a more human scale.  From the surrounding balconies you can observe huge chandeliers and dramatic paintings by Canadian artist David Bierk.
Traditional French cuisine, where signature appetisers merge with inventive accessories are offered in the Courtyard Café, and for the ultimate dining experience, reserve the chefs table in the kitchen providing a unique gourmet experience.
The Tea Room is Toronto’s only caviar and champagne lounge, perfect for relaxing mid-afternoon or indulging in the cigar lounge with suede-studded stools and a grand piano setting the scene whilst guests enjoy the features of individual private humidor lockers and a selection of the finest Cognacs, Ports and Scotches.

Business Facilities

The Windsor Arms offers a wide selection of rooms to accommodate groups from six to 200 delegates for corporate or private functions with full audio-visual equipment available.
The Courtyard Café, caviar and champagne lounge, cigar lounge and Club 22 are all available for private functions and special events.

Things to do in Toronto

Toronto is a city filled with boutiques, restaurants and cafes and of course, there are plenty of shopping opportunities in the Underground City, an 11km subterranean walkway lined with eateries, shops, banks, medical offices and theatres.
To get a sense of how big, various and magical Toronto is, the best place to start is the CN Tower, the tallest free-standing structure in the world.  From this vantage point, visitors get a bird’s eye view of the city’s striking skyline and unique geography.
An often-overlooked gem of Toronto are the beach-fringed Toronto Islands.  These eight tree-lined islands – and more than a dozen smaller islets that sit in Lake Ontario just off the city’s downtown – offer a welcome touch of greenery.
From here you’ll have spectacular views of Toronto’s skyline, especially as the setting sun turns the city’s skyscrapers to gold, silver and bronze.  If all this isn’t enough, and you want something quirkier, come in January for the annual ice canoe race, when five-man/woman teams haul canoes across the ice floes off Harbourfront Centre.

Getting to The Windsor Arms

Lester B. Pearson International Airport, commonly known as Toronto Airport is 20 miles northwest of downtown. Island Airport in downtown Toronto is a convenient alternative.
