Located in the financial district, this national historic landmark is minutes from the 16th Street Pedestrian Mall that connects LoDo and Coors Field and within walking distance of the Colorado Convention Centre.
The Cultural Connection Trolley is one of the best tours around, with the trolley visiting over 20 of the city’s main attractions.
Take a trip to Golden, 12 miles west of Denver and visit Coors, the world’s largest brewery.  Daily tours cover the basics of brewing beer and end with a trip to the tasting rooms.  Interestingly, the brewery also has one of the nicest wellness centres in the corporate world and all 42,000 employees are allowed two free beers after every shift, which they can also work off in the company workout centre.
The drive up Lookout Mountain, to the Buffalo Bill Grave and Museum, affords a sensational panoramic view of Denver.
For a true Colorado experience, head towards Georgetown, where gingerbread Victorian houses lie in quiet streets, Georgetown provides a tantalising glimpse of Colorado’s heady mining past.  This National Historic District has restaurants, small shops and the Georgetown Loop Railroad, a three-mile narrow-gauge line that travels into the mountains and back.
As you climb west from Denver, the mountains rear up, pine forests line the road and the legendary Colorado of powder skiing, alpine scenery and the great outdoors begins.  As once-primitive mining towns have attracted skiers and scenery buffs, sophisticated dining and attractions have followed.
For those wanting a more thrilling time, partake in the popular whitewater rafting trips on the Arkansas River.

About The Brown Palace Hotel

Standing the test of time, the 111-year old Brown Palace Hotel still reigns as a shining example of lodging at its finest. Since Henry C. Brown first opened the doors to his grand hotel in Denver in 1892, presidents, celebrities, tourists and business travellers who have stepped inside have found a luxurious oasis, right in the middle of the Great Plains.
From its sweeping atrium lobby, rising nine floors to a glorious stained glass canopy, to the soothing strains of the harpist playing during afternoon tea, the hustle and bustle of the city outside seems miles away.
Designed by one of Denver’s prominent architects, Frank E. Edbrooke, this unique triangular shaped building allows Colorado sunshine to illuminate each of its 241 distinctive guestrooms and suites, all of which surround its stunning Italian Renaissance nine-storey atrium lobby.

Luxury Hotel Facilities

The hotel features a grand nine-storey atrium lobby with a stained glass canopy, a state-of-the-art fitness centre with cardiovascular and strength-training equipment, full service business centre, a beauty salon and flower shop.
For dining, this hotel offers the award winning cuisine of Palace Arms, as well as Ship Tavern and Ellyngton’s.
A perfect complement to the Palace Arms, the Churchill Bar is a sophisticated retreat off the atrium lobby and offers the finest in premium spirits, and rare and popular cigars in a library atmosphere with bookshelves lining the walls, and rich, red leather wing back chairs and couches.
To enhance your Brown Palace experience, utilise the complimentary hotel car service for all of your local needs.  A new S-430 Mercedes can take you to appointments, shopping or nearby attractions within a 10-mile radius.

Room Options

Today, the hotel boasts 241 luxurious guestrooms, including two floors of deluxe executive staterooms, restored to their original art deco décor and outfitted for today’s demanding traveller, with complimentary high-speed internet access, two telephones with voice mail capability and comfortable work desk.
Three presidential suites pay tribute to presidents Theodore Roosevelt, Ronald Reagan and Dwight Eisenhower, the hotel’s most frequent presidential visitor.
Now newly restored, each room has its own character, from rich Victorian velvet to expensive art deco touches of bevelled mirrors and warm pastels.  A wealth of modern conveniences balances the historical charm in all the guestrooms, which feature in-room TVs with on-demand movies and video games, plush terry bathrobes and bathroom amenities by Crabtree & Evelyn in the full marble bathrooms with tub and separate glass-enclosed showers.  And, as from the beginning, pure Rocky Mountain water drawn from the hotel’s own artesian well still flows from every faucet.
Complementing the hotel’s range of accommodation are 25 elegantly appointed suites, 14 one-bedroom suites ranging from a smaller version of the Eisenhower presidential suite and seven two-bedroom suites as well as 33 executive staterooms.
Placing top priority on the satisfaction of the guests’ every whim has rewarded The Brown Palace Hotel as the winner of the 2003 World’s Best Business Hotel by Travel & Leisure Magazine.

Business Facilities

A wealth of modern conveniences balances the historical charm at The Brown Palace, which hosts conventions to intimate seminars and provides so much more than just a place to meet.
The rich heritage, stately atmosphere and outstanding service enhance Denver’s conventions and business functions of all types, in facilities providing more than 13,000 square feet of meeting and function space, including 12 separate rooms for groups of 10 to 800 guests.
Having recently completed its five-year restoration effort, the Denver convention facility offers state-of-the-art conference technology, all without losing the elegant feel of this historic landmark.
The Grand Ballroom, since its opening gala in 1959, has hosted more than 3,000 weddings and charity events and over 31,000 meals have been served within the walls panelled with imported African mahogany and Czech Republic crystal chandeliers.
The Onxy Room orchestrates gala banquets for some of the city’s most prestigious affairs and more than a dozen meeting rooms blend the latest in technology – including plug-and-play capabilities – with Italian Renaissance-style finery, with a full-time staff of craftsmen and painters employed to keep the original details intact.

Things to do in Denver

The Brown Palace is a national historic landmark, located in the heart of downtown Denver’s business, cultural and entertainment district.
Anchor to the financial district, the hotel is one block from the 16th Street Pedestrian Mall, connecting all of downtown with a free shuttle.  Coors Field, home of the Colorado Rockies, and the rest of LoDo lies at the other end of the free shuttle, a historic part of lower downtown, buzzing with jazz clubs, restaurants and art galleries housed in century-old buildings.
Denver’s most charming shopping area is historic Larimer Square, which showcases some of the city’s oldest retail buildings and finest speciality shops, where you can pick up a pair of cowboy boots and other western apparel.
The sharp-edged skyscrapers, clean streets and dozens of well-used parks evoke the image of a young, progressive city, but much of the essence of Denver lies in its western past.  Enjoy a city tour or slightly further a field, take the cog railway to Pike’s Peak, which climbs the mountain in a 3.5-hour trip, up to an elevation of 14,110 feet.  At the summit, view the whole of Denver and the Sangre De Cristo Mountains.
