Pre-bookings flood in for new luxury consortium: Last chance for luxury hotels to join
Due to launch on 6 June 2007, the Great Hotels Luxury Network (GHLN; http://www.ghorg.com/ghln.html) today reports an incredible early demand.
Still with a month to go before the system goes live, there are currently 168 booking requests in the system, one from a well known Royal Family and each worth an average of nearly US$2,500 (£1,240) plus an incremental spend of around US$300 (£150) per night.
GHLN is the first network to act as a centralised contracting point for deluxe hotels to supply certified high end tour operators and travel agents. At no cost to pre-launch partners, GHLN is now selecting the final few deluxe hotels.
To join, hotels provide the network with a small allocation, which reaches 400 niche luxury tour operators and travel agents worldwide. It is expected that 200-250 high category room nights will be produced through the network on average per hotel per year, with this figure doubling in year two. Membership of the network also provides industry credibility and differentiation amongst the increasing number of 5* hotels, since hotel quotas exist for each location and only the hotels with the highest quality standards and facilities are accepted.
Recent figures suggest that the UK travel industry alone is worth almost £100billion, with £45billion spent on hotels alone. In addition, luxury travellers are increasingly looking to buy travel experiences, preferring the personal touch provided by travel agents, spending an average of $10,060 each time* and remaining loyal to the hotels they have visited. With each luxury traveller spending in excess of $2,000 per person per trip*, the potential for GHLN hotels is incredible.
Adele Adams, Hotel Contracts & Product Development Manager, Great Hotels Organisation, commented: “GHLN is in a unique position to supply luxury hotels with the high value guests which help drive up revPAR. Currently this category of guest is unobtainable to many of the luxury hotels since resources prevent them from individually contracting with a growing sector of niche luxury tour operators and agents. GHLN is working to change this to the benefit of both the luxury hotels and agents worldwide.”
If you represent a 5* or 5* deluxe hotel and would like to benefit from the high value bookings available through the network, please contact Adele Adams on +44 (0)20 7383 2335 or email aadams@ghorg.com for consideration within the GHLN.
