Special Hotels of the World Announces Hotel Re-openings
Special Hotels of the World (http://www.shotw.com), representing some of the world’s most unique properties offering exceptional value and services is pleased to announce the re-opening of two of its member hotels.
Lakeside Hotel, The Lake District, Cumbria, UK
Lakeside Hotel (http://www.ghotw.com/lakeside) has reopened its doors following three months of refurbishment owing to unprecedented floods which forced its closure in November 2009.
Located on the banks of Lake Windermere, the majority of the hotel’s ground floor rooms and kitchens were overwhelmed by flood water as the lake level unusually rose by three metres after two days of torrential rain.
The hotel is now back to its former glory and the hotel management has used the opportunity to further better the guest experience by enhancing the property. Stunning new elements include dramatic chandeliers, rich-hued wall-papers, a new state-of-the-art kitchen, the upgrading of bedrooms and en-suite facilities and the exposure of the original 17th century cobbled floor in Ruskin’s Bar.
