Great Hotels Organisation Announces New Members and Hotel Openings
Great Hotels Organisation welcomes nine new member hotels to its family of brands, Great Hotels of the World and Special Hotels of the World and announces two new hotel openings in Portugal and Cyprus.
New Members - Great Hotels of the World
Great Hotels of the World (GHOTW: http://www.ghotw.com), representing some of the world’s finest independent hotels and resorts, is delighted to announce seven new members.
Boscolo Exedra Roma, Rome, Italy
Located in the heart of Rome, the 240-room Exedra Roma offers two exclusive restaurants, a rooftop terrace with pool, a modern business centre with meeting facilities and a wellness spa. Housed in a 19th century mansion, the Exedra Roma is a neoclassical monument with a contemporary twist. Each of the rooms, including 12 junior suites, three suites and two royal suites are inspired by traditional Rome with a modern touch. The Exedra’s business centre offers four modern meeting rooms, accommodating up to 200 people. A number of meeting rooms offer a glimpse of the remains of the Diocletian baths which are clearly visible through the glass floor.
Boscolo New York Palace, Budapest, Hungary
Located in the centre of the Hungarian capital, the 112-room Boscolo New York Palace combines antique architectural prestige with contemporary design to create an atmosphere of luxury. The hotel offers two deluxe restaurants including the New York Café, located on the ground floor of the hotel and said to be “the most beautiful café in the world”. Originally opened in 1894, the restaurant features original ceiling frescoes, sumptuous chandeliers and gilded spiral columns. The hotel’s spa, inspired by an alpine ice tunnel offers a sauna, Turkish bath and swimming pool and a full menu of luxurious treatments. The hotel offers a modern business centre with state-of-the-art facilities including eight meeting rooms and can accommodate up to 220 people.
Boscolo Carlo IV, Prague, Czech Republic
Located in Prague’s historical centre, the 152-room Boscolo Carlo IV is one of the most prestigious five-star hotels in Prague and is housed in the building of an old bank built in the late 19th century. The hotel’s restaurant, Box Block, boasts dazzling backdrops of glass, steel and light and serves traditional local dishes. Two bars, Inn Ox Bar and Cigar Bar, are located in the old bank’s safe room, offering the perfect place torelax. The business centre offers six meeting rooms which can accommodate up to 350 delegates.
Insotel Fenicia Prestige Thalasso Spa, Ibiza, Spain
Located on the seafront next to the Santa Eulalia River and just a few steps from the beach, the 172-room Insotel Fenicia Prestige Thalasso Spa boasts an excellent location for families and those seeking a quieter holiday in Ibiza. The hotel’s 1,200 square metre Thalasso spa includes a fitness area and beauty centre. Facilities include outdoor and indoor pools, waterbeds, sauna, herbal steam room, salt steam room, sensation showers, ice fountain and solarium and a full menu of treatments and therapies are available. The hotel offers four restaurants and three bars serving exquisite cuisine. The Oriental Monsoon restaurant boasts an open-air terrace and gives diners the chance to watch the chefs prepare the finest Japanese food. Five easily-adaptable conference rooms are available with space for up to 250 people and a number of outdoor areas are easily adapted to cater for a variety of events.
Insotel Punta Prima Prestige Suites & Spa, Menorca, Spain
Situated in Punta Prima, near San Luis, this hotel offers 52 exclusive spacious suites. In a peaceful and relaxing setting overlooking the Mediterranean Sea and amid lush gardens, the hotel offers a comfortable bar lounge with large terraces, three restaurants and a swimming pool with sea views. The Prestige Spa includes fitness and beauty centres and offers state-of-the-art facilities and services with the guidance of expert professionals. St James’s Hotel and Club, London, England
Located in a quiet cul-de-sac close to Mayfair, St James’s Hotel and Club is an elegant 19th century townhouse providing the highest standard of hospitality and service. The hotel’s 60 rooms and suites have been recently renovated and are exclusively finished to the highest standards. Many have their own balcony and the penthouse features a large rooftop terrace. The St James’s restaurant serves Mediterranean cuisine with an Asian twist and has recently been awarded two rosettes and the sophisticated bar offers a comfortable retreat. Hotel Barcelo Sancti Petri, Cadiz, Spain
Located in Cadiz, in the southern region of Andalucia, Hotel Barcelo Sancti Petri is an avant-garde style hotel situated on the seafront at La Barrosa Beach. The hotel offers 191 luxury rooms, most with sea or tropical garden views. Its extensive 3,650 square metre spa and wellness centre is spread over two floors and features numerous facilities including thermodynamic swimming pools, sensation showers, Turkish bath, Roman bath, Finnish sauna, cold pool and an ice cave. The hotel’s congress and convention centre has two halls, divisible into multiple break-out rooms which can accommodate up to 450 delegates. Recently Opened Great Hotels of the World
Troia Design Hotel, Troia, Portugal
Located on a stunning peninsular between the Atlantic Ocean and the Sado River, Troia Design Hotel opened its doors earlier this month. One hour from Lisbon airport, the hotel offers four swimming pools including one rooftop pool, a 1200 square metre spa, two restaurants, three bars, a conference centre for up to 1000 delegates and in future will include a casino and entertainment centre.
