This story is part of our 'Travelling with Kids' series, featuring tales from luxury hotel guests which were sent in for our recent travel writing competition.
In March of 2010, I had the opportunity of travelling with my two grandsons to San Jose del Cabo. They absolutely fell in love with that part of Mexico and so did I. Their parents were with us as well. We walked a lot and took in all the sites and even spent a day in Cabo San Lucas. We took a glass bottomed boat out for a few hours and thoroughly enjoyed that.
My oldest grandson (he was 6 then) is in love with flowers and trees so he just loved all the cactus and the beautiful flowers that were seen all over the town. My younger grandson (he was 4 at the time) had to buy a sombrero and a Mexican shirt from off the beach. He wore the hat all the time. Their Mother bought them both ponchos and they wouldn't take them off at night.
Both my grandsons love fish, so they were in their glory when we went to a restaurant. The older boy was afraid of the water and the younger one wasn't sure either but by the time we were ready to leave, they were both jumping in the pool every day.
I loved travelling with my grandsons as everything was new to them and they were awe-inspired most of the time. They have a French teacher for a Mother, who also teaches Spanish, so it was terrific to see them try to speak Spanish to the owners of the stores. They did very well.
I would definitely travel again with these wonderful boys and their parents.
