My most beautiful romantic experience began with a trip to Thailand. My husband was working in the country at the time and the only way we could be together was if I flew there to meet him. Our wedding anniversary was coming up and I wanted more than anything to be with the person I loved most. I booked a flight and off I went!

To make my entrance into the country easier Larry had arranged for a person to greet me as soon as I stepped off the plane and take me to the VIP section of immigration to fast track my entry into the country. I was so touched by this, he knew the flight was long and I would be tired and overwhelmed. He had me covered. When I finally saw him, I was so excited and overjoyed, finally we were to be together once more!

The rest of this trip was planned by him. He had arranged for us to stay at a wonderful hotel in Bangkok for a few days just to relax and look around at the many sites around the city, lots to see; and riding in the local tuk tuks is an experience in itself!

Days later, off we went to Phuket where we stayed at the beautiful Busari Patong Boutique Hotel, close to the beach. It had all the things I could have possibly wanted and the spa service was unbelievable! There is absolutely nothing to compare it to when it comes to experiencing a Thai massage. It sets your body and soul free! We left the spa each day feeling like we were weightless.

The resort featured a fantastic restaurant with a full staff of professional chefs so we dined as if we were royalty as well as getting to try a wide variety of different foods that were most pleasing to the palate, and a great wine selection too. Lights were dimmed for the evening meal, tables were set formally and candles were lit, quite a romantic atmosphere. Many honeymooners were also visiting the same hotel. I felt like a princess for the whole trip.

Every day there was something new to do. We hired a driver to take us around the island. We visited several factories that grow and harvest pearls for commercial use. The process is so interesting and learning about it is worth a visit if you're there. The finished product, once seen, when it has been made into different types of jewellery and displayed in the cases is absolutely breathtaking. I felt like a kid in a candy store.

It was so hard to choose my anniversary gift though I finally decided on what I wanted: an extraordinary set of pearls with a platinum gold clasp. We soon realized we did not have any credit cards or any cash with us that day however. The manager of the store sent a staff member to the hotel the next day with my gift. I was so impressed by this act of kindness. The celebration of our wedding anniversary is one I will never forget. Memories count for so much in life!.
