My girlfriend and I decided to book a long stay at the Marti Resort Hotel for our first holiday together. As we flew into Dalaman Airport we started looking forward to seeing the resort and the places we hoped to visit; neither of us had been to Turkey before but we’d heard good things.

Our room was spacious with fabulous views over the beach and gardens. The helpful staff booked us in for a meal, and arranged for us to visit the nearby towns the next day so we could get a feel of the area. It was great to get insider tips on the best sights to visit.

The swimming pool was lovely, and we had a couple of treatments at the health club. The calm and peaceful atmosphere allowed for some much needed rest and relaxation. After two weeks of sun, sights and warm hospitality we left Marti Resort feeling like we’d made the very most of our time off. Marti Resort Hotel is set among the stunning scenery of Mugla, an area steeped in history. We wanted to unwind, but also to get out and about – this was the perfect destination for us.

We loved our luxurious deluxe sea-view room, and spent a couple of evenings just relaxing on the balcony, listening to the rolling sea and enjoying each other’s company. The resort is very peaceful, which made for a romantic atmosphere. From the hotel to Icmeler it’s a gentle 10 minute stroll – and we found this was a good way to start the day. We also took an informative village tour, which allowed us to soak up the scenery and see the real Turkey.

After a couple of days lounging by the pool we decided to rent bikes so we could explore the area and find some hidden beaches and coves.

In the evenings we walked along the beach to watch the sun set before heading back to the hotel for a nightcap in the bar. We booked a candlelit dinner in the Kapadokya restaurant, where we enjoyed delicious local cuisine and wines in a tranquil setting. A boat trip along the pretty coastline on our last day was the perfect way to end our stay.
