If Mother Nature has amply blessed the Mediterranean coasts of Turkey, she has been particularly generous with Belek, Antalya. Nestled at the base of the Taurus Mountains, surrounded by a verdant pine forest, Gloria Golf Resort feels quite remote but is easy to reach.

This is the ultimate holiday destination. Set on a beautiful beach, nestled in a lush garden, the resort was welcoming with a sophisticated, luxurious atmosphere. We were given a spacious Junior Suite, furnished in a gentle palette of neutrals, our bedroom and sitting room inviting relaxation. Our terrace was perfect for watching the sun set over the Mediterranean Sea.

This is a great choice if you are travelling with children. The Gogi Kids Club is a safe environment with fascinating games and various activities, including a mini cinema, basketball, volleyball, sports hall, outdoor and indoor swimming pools, aquapark and more. Special kids’ meals are available. Our kids loved playing mini-golf while we were on the grown-up course!

We spent our mornings on the golf course and cooled off in the afternoons by the beach. Meandering pools, exotic palm trees, breathtaking views and golden beaches all took our breath away. Add to that a wealth of activities including golf and watersports – what more could we ask for?

Dining was another high point – seven restaurants serving delicious food created by the talented chef and his team. From fresh, locally caught fish at Pescado to extensive Turkish buffets at Anatolia, the cuisine at Gloria Golf Resort was remarkable.

Gloria Golf Resort has three courses to choose from. It is the largest golf complex in Turkey, and was designed by Michel Gayon – two of its renowned courses have hosted European Seniors Tour events. The Old Course is still one of the best in Turkey, and is really the resort’s trademark golf attraction. It boasts some beautiful greens and amazing views over the beach, which we found a little distracting – but we still enjoyed a great game.

The newest course is one of the most challenging, with 67 bunkers and four lakes to compete with, but it really gave us a sense of the course’s size and dramatic scenery. The Gloria Verde Resort Course has nine holes and is perfect for beginners to get started and learn a few tips from those who have the skills. No matter what your handicap, the resort has a course for everyone. It’s true to say that Gloria Hotels & Resorts is fast becoming a globally ranking golfer’s paradise, due to its superb location and world class golf courses.

The resort has recently hosted the Women’s World Amateur Team Championship, Espirito Santo Trophy, Women’s World Amateur Team Championship and more.
