Dominating the town is the harbour with its ancient fortress, just one of the many historical sites to be found in Paphos. Other attractions worth visiting include the House of Dionysos with its beautiful mosaics, and the Tombs of the Kings, which date back to the 3rd Century BC. Further afield is the Akamas peninsula, the most westerly point of Cyprus and the last remaining undeveloped part of the island. Escape the summer heat by heading to the Troodos mountain, a hilltop station dotted with historic churches. It is also worth exploring in the winter, when skiing is possible.

Established in 1994, the Tsada golf course is set in the grounds of a 12th Century monastery, and was created by Donald Steel. The 18-hole course is 550 metres above sea level, and other facilities include a driving range and putting green.
Within close proximity of the famous birthplace of Aphrodite, goddess of love, at Petra tou Romiou, the Secret Valley golf course is situated in a scenic valley with trees and unusual rock formations. The Trahana Body Ritual is one of the hotel’s unique treatments using local products. Oats are added to a mixture of goat yogurt, olive oil and fresh herbs. This is applied to the body in circular movements to exfoliate the skin gently. Then the body is wrapped, allowing the mixture to nourish and cleanse the skin during a head massage. Finally the mixture is removed under a warm tropical rain shower and moisturiser is added. The spa also offers guests a range of fresh organic juices and herbal teas at the juice bar.
