Hotel Overview
The Athenaeum Hotel with its spacious lobby area decorated in marble and wood, feels like walking into a traditional London club, enhanced by the superb reception staff that set the high personal service standard for this lovely hotel. Located in central London overlooking Green Park it is an ideal place to stay for business or pleasure. The original building dates back to 1925 and was extensively refurbished in 1994 to its current deluxe status, often home to travelling celebrities it is known for its discreet but comprehensive service.

There are 111 guest rooms and 12 suites to choose from each uniquely styled from traditional chintz to contemporary. All the accommodation benefits from up to date technology with digital TV and radio, broadband internet access, CD and DVD players and two phone lines with fax, modem and voicemail facilities. The luxurious bathrooms have power showers as standard and snugly bathrobes. Some of the rooms enjoy views over Piccadilly to the treetops of Green Park.

Bullochs, the hotel restaurant, offers ‘modern British’ cuisine including plenty of organic produce from all over Europe and the British Isles, the décor has a Mediterranean feel with antique mosaics set in the marble floor and with the amusing touch of featuring the names of celebrities on chairs they have occupied in the restaurant. The Windsor Lounge is a comfortable, informal space with squashy sofas to relax on. Open 24 hours it is ideal for a light lunch, afternoon tea or late drinks after a show. The Whisky bar has 157 varieties of whisky on offer, complimentary hot and cold canapés are offered with drinks in the evening. A full room service menu is on offer 24 hours.

Local Attractions
The Athenaeum is just off Piccadilly in central London, this gives it the advantage of being within walking distance of Buckingham Palace, the Royal Academy, the theatre district and the exclusive shops of Bond Street. Other main attractions are only a short distance away: the Houses of Parliament, Covent Garden, Soho and Knightsbridge. To escape from the hustle and bustle take a breather in Hyde Park or Green Park and feed the ducks or go horse riding. There are also plenty of restaurants, cafes and bars around here the concierge will be more than happy to offer advice and make reservations.
