Hotel Overview
The Ritz hotel has been synonymous with old world elegance and sophistication since its opening in 1906, recently refurbished and restored to its original glory in Louis XVI style, it continues to be one of the grand luxury hotels of Europe. Overlooking pretty Green Park it is close to the shops and galleries of Cork Street, Bond Street and the Burlington Arcade. The magnificent façade is a landmark in Piccadilly along with the liveried doorman. The setting and style of the hotel are formal; with acres of luxurious carpeting, sparkling chandeliers and gilded mirrors and furniture, jeans are discouraged in the public areas.

There are 133 rooms and with a ratio of two staff to every bedroom high levels of service are maintained. Some of the rooms still have their original brass beds and marble fireplaces, all the guest rooms are spacious and the bathrooms are elegantly appointed with marble or tiles, generous bathtubs, showers and luxury toiletries. Along side these traditional features modern facilities are discreetly provided with ISDN lines, modem points, voice mail and provision of computers, fax machine or secretarial services on request.
Hotel Dining
The dining room at the Ritz, London is spectacular with silk drapes, huge twinkling chandeliers, dainty chairs and tromps l’oil in the distinctive Louis XVI style. The cuisine is traditional with contemporary influences; beautiful tableware and the legendary service make any meal here an event. In the summer tables are set outside on the terrace and in the Italian garden. Traditional afternoon tea is served in the Palm Court and has become a highlight of a visit to London for non-residents too. The décor in the Rivoli Bar is early Art Deco with beautiful wood panelling and Lalique glass panels, comfortable chairs and sofas. The Ritz, London operates a formal dress code in all these areas; jeans are not permitted and gentlemen are requested to wear jackets and ties.

Most of the major London theatres are nearby along with numerous cinemas, bars and restaurants.
