Another traditional Mexican ritual is the Temazcal - a small domed structure built to hold in the heat of hot stones. About the hotel
Please note that following the tragic events of Hurricane Wilma last year the Presidente InterContinental Cozumel Resort & Spa will be closed for repairs caused by the hurricane until 1 October 2006.

Things to do | |
Cozumel is rich in both history and natural wonders. Highlights include the ancient Mayan ruins on the north side of the island and the sanctuary dedicated to the fertility goddess Ixchel at San Gervasio. Island mysteries are unveiled at the Museum of the Island of Cozumel, which exhibits colourful displays about coral reefs and a range of other national treasures.
The Cozumel Marine Reef National Park and Chankanaab Park are a must for nature enthusiasts, along with the jungle trail that leads to
the Botanical Gardens. The gardens feature over 300 types of tropical plants from more than 20 countries.
