Unlike many cities where suburban malls have taken over, Vancouver is full of individual boutiques and speciality shops.  Antique stores, ethnic markets, art galleries, high-fashion outlets, fine department stores and of course the obligatory jewellery stores are all worthy of your visit.
One of the best ways to see the city is to cycle along at least part of the Seaside Bicycle Route.  This 23 mile flat, car-free route starts at Canada Place downtown, follows the waterfront around Stanley Park and continues, with a few detours, all the way around False Creek to Spanish Banks Beach.
For those with a little less energy to expend, you can charter a motorboat or sailboat from Granville Island and enjoy the waters around English Bay.  A three-hour introduction to sailing is included with longer cruise and learn trips available.

Things to do in Vancouver

The colourful city offers the tourist or business traveller unlimited activities with unique art galleries, theatres, shopping, nightlife and entertainment, on safe, easy-to-follow streets.
Ideally located on Robson Square, start your day with an early morning walk or shuttle bus ride through Stanley Park to see the Vancouver Aquarium Marine Science Centre, stopping to see the views from Prospect Point and taking a stroll along the seawall.
Meander through the trendy shops between Denman and Burrard Street and view the many buildings of architectural interest along the way as well as the Vancouver Art Gallery, the Canadian Museum of Craft and Design and the Pacific Mineral Museum.  Head to the south side of False Creek and English Bay to delve into the public market and the many boutiques.
If you’d rather play outside, head to the North Shore Mountains, where you can swing high about the Capilano River on a suspension bridge or take in the panoramic city views as you ride the Skyride to the top of Grouse Mountain.
