Saman Villas provide tailor-made weddings in the traditional Sri Lankan style, with dancers and drummers and a ride on an elephant for the bride and groom. The package also includes a priest to solemnize the wedding, flower arrangements, a wedding cake, a private six-course dinner alfresco, an upgrade to a deluxe suite and, if required, wedding outfits for the bride and groom.
The wedding package is tailor-made to suit every couple’s needs and costs from US$1,290. Additional options at an extra cost include a video and a bottle of Dom Perignon champagne.
A honeymoon package is also available for couples staying for five nights or more. The offer includes a complimentary five-course dinner in a romantic setting in the Pool Pavilion.

Saman Villas offers a choice of restaurants, which overlook the sea and swimming pool. These include the Terrace Restaurant, which opens onto the cascading gardens on the rockface, and the main restaurant well known for its excellent cuisine and the daily five-course set menus.
Those guests celebrating a special occasion can enjoy an evening meal in the newly-built pavilion while being served by their own private butler.
The resort also features a fitness centre complete with The Sahana Spa, which offers aromatherapy, herbal massages and yoga twice a week.

The luxurious two-storey Saman Villa Suite houses a ground floor comprised of a spacious bathroom, which opens into a large courtyard and a 22-foot long private swimming pool, which affords complete privacy, as well as an exquisitely designed sitting room and veranda. The first floor portion consists of a large bedroom with living area, attached bathroom with shower and a large balcony opening out to the ocean.

Things to do in Bentota

Sri Lanka is often described as the ‘pearl in the Indian Ocean’ and with an abundance of marine life, living corals and tropical gardens it’s easy to understand why.
Scuba diving and snorkelling is available at Bentota – a great way to explore Sri Lanka’s coastline. Make a visit to the Brief Garden in Kalawila. Laid out over five acres, this paradise boasts a range of unusual tropical trees and plants.
Don’t miss a tour of Kaneliya’s rainforest, with its lush waterfalls and rare birds and animals. Guests can also take a tour of the tea plantations at Udugama. Historical attractions include the Buddhist Temple at Kalutara and the Dutch Fort in the coastal town of Galle, which is home to a fortress, Dutch buildings and a maritime museum.
