Built in 1870, this graceful privately owned hotel dreamily evokes a belle époque atmosphere and has been a favourite among heads of state, artists and musicians throughout its history. A recent radical renovation has returned Grand Hotel Majestic to its position as one of Europe’s most luxurious properties.
Standing proudly on a promontory, Grand Hotel Majestic commands spectacular views of Lake Maggiore, the surrounding mountains and the Borromee islands. Excursions can be arranged to all the surrounding attractions.
Set in a tranquil flower-scented garden on the elegant west shores of the lake, the hotel has its own waterfront, jetty and small private beach, which are just a stone’s throw away from the tiny picturesque island of San Giovanni.

The Borromee Islands are an ideal backdrop for romantic pastimes. Start by taking a motorboat trip to Isola dei Pescatori, a medieval island that was once home to fishermen only.
