About the hotel

Housed in a former Jesuit monastery and university, the Hotel Ruze is a historic monument located in the charming medieval town of Cesky Krumlov – listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage City. Built in the 16th Century on the rocks above the Vltava River, and completely renovated in 1999, this luxurious hotel has retained many of its historic features, such as an original sundial, decorative facade, and magnificent frescoes.
Hotel Ruze offers a unique destination for guests who wish to experience the glory of Renaissance times. Tapestries, antiques, paintings and precious fabrics abound. The 71 rooms and suites are decorated in a traditional manner in keeping with the history of the listed building. The Knights’ Feast Hall is the ideal setting for events, with staff dressed in traditional costume and serving medieval dishes. Former guests have included politicians and members of Europe’s royal families.
Situated near the Austrian and German borders, the town has a typical central European character. There is a wealth of sporting activities and sightseeing options on offer in the surrounding area, and traditional music festivals and art exhibitions are held throughout the year.
