The Oberoi Wildflower Hall is a luxury resort in the Himalayas. Situated in 23 acres of cedar forests, the resort offers panoramic views of the magnificent Himalayan ranges. An air of tranquillity and privacy pervades as the hotel occupies only five per cent of the 23-acre property.

Hotel Facilities

The resort has a library, a card room, billiards room, an indoor heated swimming pool, an ice skating rink (in winter) and a tennis court (in summer). Arrangements can also be made for a round of golf at the nearby 18-hole course. Overlooking the majestic Himalayas, the Spa, managed by Banyan Tree, offers a complete range of treatments for beauty and relaxation suitable for both men and women. A unique feature of the Spa is the Spa Pavilion, a specially designed facility located amidst the cedar forests. The Spa Suite provides picturesque views of the snow-capped mountains.

All the 85 elegantly appointed rooms and suites offer breathtaking views of the mountains, valleys or dense forests. They feature spacious marble bathrooms, walk-in wardrobes, satellite television, and CD and DVD players. The Lord Kitchener suite features a sitting room and two guest rooms. The Oberoi Wildflower Hall is the perfect base from which to explore the magnificent mountains and forests.

Dining

The Restaurant, with an attached conservatory, has panoramic views of the mountain ranges. The menu features both international and Indian specialities. The Cavalry Bar offers a range of fine spirits, wines and cigars. Lutyens, the Indian restaurant, serves regional cuisine while Periwinkle, the children’s restaurant, features pizzas and popcorn as well as entertainment for children.

Things to Do & Local Attractions

Shimla is famous for exclusively designed Kinnauri shawls, Himachali Caps and traditional local wooden souvenirs. The 150-year-old Mall promenade has an array of shops selling traditional and contemporary crafts. A varied selection of souvenirs and gifts is also available at the hotel’s boutique – Tijori. Outdoor activities include picnics, bird watching, nature walks and guided treks as well as croquet, mountain cycling, golf, white water rafting down the river Sutlej, archery and horse riding.

Getting there

There are flights on alternate days between New Delhi and Shimla. Daily flights also between New Delhi and Chandigarh. The resort is a 90-minute drive from Shimla Airport and a four-hour drive from Chandigarh. Frequent trains are available from New Delhi to Kalka, which is a three-hour drive to the hotel.
