About the hotel

The Olde Bell Hotel is located in beautiful Berkshire, only 45 minutes away from Central London. Created by Ilse Crawford, who also designed Soho House New York and the Grand Hotel Stockholm, The Olde Bell is a re-invention of the traditional English inn - complete with burning wood fireplace and parts of the building dating back to 1135. The rooms don’t dominate the hotel, preferring to let the natural beauty of the building’s style shine through and create a unique space within which to relax and unwind away from the city.

The hotel has a fascinating history, including being the site of a plot to overthrow the monarchy and a house for meetings between Winston Churchill and Dwight Eisenhower, as well as being a regular hotspot for Hollywood starlets like Elizabeth Taylor. Indulge in a luxurious meal in the famous restaurant, then sit back with a glass of wine and watch the fireplace sparkle.

Dining

The Olde Bell Hotel’s restaurant has a fabulous new team in charge of the kitchen, cooking up a storm with local produce. Warren Geraghty is Executive Chef, joining after recently working at the critically acclaimed restaurant West in Vancouver after other amazing venues with 1 and 2 Michelin Stars, including Chez Nico, Pied a Terre and L’Escargot Marco Pierre White. Head Chef is James Ferguson, who has worked at impressive establishments including Sous Chef at L’Escargot Marco Pierre White, and trained under Gordon Ramsey and Angela Hartnett. Most recently he worked at Rochelle Canteen under Margot Henderson.

Jason Farr is the restaurant’s Pastry Chef after working at L’Escargot Marco Pierre White for four years, followed by Rules - London’s oldest restaurant.

The team cooks simple, rustic and fantastic quality food with generous portions and bursting with flavour. They have spent time and effort building relationships with local farmers and producers of the best ingredients in the area, creating seasonal and ever-changing menus. Warren cooks seasonal, local and honest food with an additional passion for wild food and foraging - so look out for really interesting dishes!
