About the Hotel

The Sorrento is Seattle’s oldest operating luxury hotel and pioneered the fashion for boutique, luxury hotels occupying well-loved city landmarks.  Dating back to 1908, the Sorrento was designed to look like an Italian villa with a dramatic circular driveway around a palm-fringed fountain.  Sitting high on First Hill, the hotel overlooks Downtown and Elliott Bay.
All 76 guestrooms and suites have traditional furnishings and personalities, and each is well equipped for the leisure and business traveller, with the Penthouse Suite as the perfect location for at-home entertaining.
Encapsulating the Northwest spirit, the Sorrento is very much in the present, but grounded in the time-honoured pleasures of the past.

HOTEL FACILITIES

Guests are invited to relax and unwind in the Nautilus fitness centre. Or for those wishing to be pampered, the Nordstrom Spa is situated seven blocks from the hotel and the Sorrento concierge are happy to assist in booking treatments.
Yasuo Mori is located on the first floor of the Sorrento hotel and invites guests to experience the historical Japanese massage technique of Shiatsu.  Mr Mori has practised the traditional art in Seattle since 1978, restoring the body, mind and spirit to its natural state of balance, while alleviating stress, fatigue and muscle aches.
The Hunt Club, the hotel’s gourmet restaurant, holds a long list of awards as the best in the entire Northwest.  Creative cuisine also highlights the adjacent Fireside room, as its whimsically vertical appetisers make way for cocktails, laptops, cards and board games on the tables.

THINGS TO DO

For those with only a single day for sightseeing, focus your energy on the waterfront and downtown Seattle - the heart of the business, shopping and entertainment district.
Visit Pike Place Market and read the hundreds of names etched into the floor tiles as you wander among stalls selling fresh seafood, produce, cheese, Northwest wines, bulk spices, tea, coffee and arts and crafts.
A walk through Pioneer Square and the International District provides a glimpse into the early city, as it appeared when it was rebuilt after the Great Fire in 1889.  Encompassing approximately 18 blocks, the district is home to restaurants, bars, shops and the city’s largest concentration of art galleries.
For those with a little more time, hop on a plane that lands on the sea for unforgettable views of Puget Sound and the San Juan Islands or catch a late-afternoon ferry heading west, where you will get unobstructed views of the snow-capped Olympics silhouetted against the setting sun, with a return trip with views towards Seattle’s skyline.
