Things to do in Buenos Aires

Buenos Aires, a busy port, is also known as the gateway to Argentina and has maintained a European style in architecture and culture over the years, with German and Swedish names outnumbering Spanish ones. The national dance is the Tango and no visit here would be complete without a visit to see the experts dancing in San Telmo. It is the norm to dine late in the city and there are plenty of great restaurants and cafes to visit. Beef is a speciality on most menus washed down with some delicious local wine. The internationally renowned opera at Teatro Colon is spectacular, although tickets can be hard to come by.

Getting to Sofitel Buenos Aires

The international airport is Ezeiza, which is about 40 minutes away. Domestic arrivals land at Aeroparque Jorge Newbery (AEP), about 10 minutes from town.
