The Parkhotel Schloss Meisdorf is a genuine castle that dates back to 1708. Situated amidst the picturesque Harz Mountains at the foot of Falkenstein castle, the hotel is in the romantic Selke Valley. If you drive through the old wrought-iron gate into the 12 hectare castle park, you enter a world of princely hospitality. • The Altes Schloss restaurant has an unforgettable charm. The cuisine ranges from local Harz dishes to international specialities.  
• For larger groups, or even parties, the historic music room is ideal. The room can hold up to 130 people, and has an incredible atmosphere. 
• Alternatively, relax and see the day out in the Sailor’s Inn hotel bar. Forge new relationships or simply review the day when it opens Tuesday through Saturday. 
• For lighter meals or snacks, the terrace is just right. Looking out over the stunning scenery, the terrace provides the perfect balance between the gourmet cooking of the restaurant and the drinks and snacks of the Sailor’s Inn.

Things to Do & Local Attractions

• Harz begins at the Selketal Nature Park. Enjoy this unique landscape mixed with medieval buildings and the idyllic green regions of the Harz. The highest mountain range in Harz is Der Brocken, only 64km away from the hotel. These beautiful and awe-inspiring landscapes are well worth a visit. 
• There are 6 lovely cities nearby the resort, all of which the hotel offers a shuttle service to and from. The top one to visit is the city of Quedlingburg, only 15km away. 
• In the centre of the town there are a number of half-timbered buildings from at least five different centuries (including a 14th century structure, one of the oldest in Germany). 
• Around the outer fringes of the old town there are wonderful examples of Jugendstil buildings, dating from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The castle and the cathedral still tower above the city.
• The cathedral is a prime example of German Romanesque style. The Domschatz is on display here, a treasure containing ancient artefacts and books which was stolen and finally bought back to Quedlinburg in 1993.
