About the hotel

Sultry, provocative and a little decadent, Hotel Rogue strives and succeeds at bringing Florida’s South Beach club scene to Washington DC.  Located steps away from the downtown business district, ideally located on Embassy Row, this is Washington DC's most adventurous, luxury boutique hotel where you can surf the net in style, flirt shamelessly in the bar and bask in the attentive service of a luxury hotel. Part of the Kimpton Hotel and Restaurant Group, known for its offbeat and upscale boutique accommodation, Hotel Rouge has been transformed from an old DC building into a cleverly crafted provocative hotel, where guestrooms have deep crimson drapes at the windows, a floor-to-ceiling red "pleather” headboard and an orange crush velvet dresser, whose built-in minibar holds all sorts of red items, such as Hot Tamales candies, red wax lips and Red Bull. Urban cool rules at Bar Rouge, just off the hotel lobby, with its large framed monitor with streaming visual effects and ever-changing music, which attracts club-going denizens at all hours and serves food nearly around the clock.

Dining

Bar Rouge is the coolest new bar and lounge, offering a modern hip decor mixed with cocktails, wine and food from one of the best chef's in Washington DC.  An eclectic mix of furnishings is covered in leather and mohair, making this lounge a cross between LA cool and London hip, with a New York attitude. Acid Jazz and International music play throughout the day and the flatscreen monitors behind the bar show images of snow falling, mountain peaks and other tranquil scenes, which along with the long couches and upholstered walls keep the hip quotient high.  Settle into one of the throne-like armchairs and indulge in a Brigitte Bardot Martini or some other exotic concoction or order triple-chocolate devil's food cake at 2am, Bar Rouge is the place to flirt shamelessly and indulge your wicked side. Guests at Hotel Rouge are invited to embrace the theme of adventure, and are invited to help themselves to the complimentary bloody Mary bar and cold pizza.  Healthier meals and less frisky refreshments are also offered.

Things to do

Located on Embassy Row, near the business district and footsteps from trendy Dupont Circle, Hotel Rouge is just five blocks from the White House and one mile from Union Station.  Presenting the characteristic energy and excitement of an international capital, guests have the opportunity to experience America and its history to the fullest. Outside the federal enclave, Washington's neighbourhoods flaunt cultural delights.  Dupont Circle showcases easels of the masters beside those of budding artists, Adams Morgan embraces a banquet of ethnic offerings and Bethesda rightly claims the most diverse restaurant scene.  High culture bows and pirouettes on the Kennedy Centre stage almost every night as local and big-name rock groups deafen their young audiences in the "New US" Street corridor. Washington Harbour scenic setting combines the social pleasures and style of Georgetown with the natural beauty of the Potomac riverfront.  The wide promenade is enjoyed by office workers, shoppers, strollers and diners at several restaurants offering outdoor seating and is the perfect place to stroll at midday, before a sunset dinner, or after dark when the terraces are lit up. Political powerhouse, thriving metropolis and intern party town, DC packs more punch per square mile than any other city.
