There are four restaurants, including Ponte Vedra's signature restaurant, the Seafoam. The Golf Club overlooks the golf course and lagoon and has a relaxed lunch and dinner menu. The Outpost is a rustic, wooden-framed lodge. It has a wraparound porch and banquet themes like clambakes, pig roasts, turkey shoots and country and western nights. Visit historic St Augustine, the oldest Spanish-settled town in the United States that pre-dates the Pilgrim Fathers. Sold to the United States in 1821, St Augustine soon became a thriving destination and is an important centre for Spanish culture. The many renovated colonial buildings include the Lighthouse, restored Spanish Quarter, cultural museums and there is a fortnightly ghost tour. Jacksonville is also located close to Ponte Vedra Inn & Club, and is a good option for excellent shopping, sports and eco-tourism.
