About the hotel

The Oberoi Udaivilas is a luxury resort situated amidst 30 acres of landscaped gardens and grand courtyards. Conceived in the royal tradition of the palaces of Mewar, the resort offers an experience of grandeur and majesty. Corridors, domes covered in gold leaf, hand-painted murals, pavilions, arches and fountains recreate the romance of the past. The resort offers an ideal base from which to explore the fabled city of Udaipur, renowned for its palaces, lakes and colourful bazaars.

Hotel Facilities

The resort has two large swimming pools heated in winter, a gymnasium, boutique and a library with a selection of music and DVDs. Private excursions and cruises on the lake can be organised by the hotel. The Spa, managed by Banyan Tree, offers holistic treatments and therapies to pamper and revitalise mind and body. Massages, facials and body beautification methods use ancient Ayurveda and aromatherapy as well as Thai and western techniques designed to relieve stress as well as create a sense of wellbeing. The spa has a private pool and individual therapy suites with views of Lake Pichola, the Aravali mountains and City Palace. Each of the eight suites has its own steam sauna and Victorian style bathtub. The gym and hair salon are located around a central domed foyer with a marble fountain.

Enjoy a memorable dining experience with an assortment of Indian and international specialities in the elegant Suryamahal restaurant. Udaimahal restaurant specialises in north Indian and Rajasthani specialities. Things to Do & Local Attractions

The impressive city palace in Udaipur, surrounded by crenellated walls and towering over Lake Pichola, is the largest in Rajasthan. Founded in 1567, this attraction comprises four major and several minor palaces. Other popular attractions in the region include the Crystal Gallery, Jag Mandir island, Sahelion Ki Bari gardens and Jagdish Temple. Also known as the Monsoon Palace, the Sajjan Garh is located atop a hill and dominates the city’s skyline. It is a perfect place from which to view the sunset. Udaipur’s colourful bazaars, filled with local crafts, jewellery, fabric and pottery, are perfect for bargain hunting.

Udaipur is 1hr and 40 mins by air from Delhi and Mumbai, and 45 mins from Jaipur. The region is also accessible by train and road from India’s main cities. Indira Gandhi International airport in Delhi is about 14hrs from the resort by road.

The Spa

The spa has a private pool and individual therapy suites with views of Lake Pichola, the Aravali mountains and City Palace. Each of the eight suites has its own steam sauna and Victorian style bathtub. The gym and hair salon are located around a central domed foyer with a marble fountain. One of the signature treatments is the rejuvenating and relaxing Rice Massage. Herbal oil is applied to the skin, and small linen bags containing cooked rice, milk and special herbal blends are used to massage the body.
