Located in the heart of Florence, the Hotel Monna Lisa is an elegant former Renaissance Palace. Wander across a shady courtyard and step into this 17th Century haven. Like many Renaissance buildings, the simple elegance of the exterior belies the riches within. The hotel is furnished with fine antique furniture, oil paintings and art treasures including neo-classical drawings and statues by Giovanni Dupré – the famous sculptor from whom the owner’s family is descended. The hotel is an attractive yet unusual establishment and is perfect for guests who wish to have a pleasant stay in a delightfully unique atmosphere. First time visitors to Florence should head to the famous square, Piazzale Michelangelo, located on the banks of the river and overlooking the centre of the town. At sunset, the square offers a fascinating and unforgettable setting for romance. Enjoy a meal at one of the many restaurants in the square and just sit back and soak up the atmosphere.
