Begin your visit to Brussels with a short walk to Grand Place, a historic market square, with splendid guild buildings and the impressive gothic beauty of the town hall. Also within walking distance of the hotel is Europe’s oldest cultural institution, La Monnaie Opera House, which was inaugurated in 1700. At the heart of the international dance and opera scene, be sure to catch a live performance here. Le Botanique is another cultural centre, this time specifically for the French community, which combines music, dance, movies, theatre, cafés and expositions all on one premise. At the Royal Museum of Art and History, visitors will find a grouping of various museums, such as the Chinese Pavilion, the Cinquantenaire Museum and the Pavilion Horta-Lambeaux. Large parts of this historical city are UNESCO sites, ensuring there is no shortage of intriguing cultural sites worth exploring.
