About the hotel
Housed in a former 17th Century palace, the Grand Hotel Continental is just a short walk from the delightful Piazza del Campo, where the famous palio (horse race) takes place twice a year.
Built by the famous architect Carlo Fontana, the hotel has retained many of its historic features, including the magnificent frescoes of the banqueting halls and the imposing walls of the Palazzo Gori, which greet you as you enter the glass doors. All the hotel's guest rooms are beautifully decorated with rich fabrics and antique furniture dating back to the 17th Century.
