Fancourt features four Gary Player-designed championship golf courses, including the new Links, which played host to the Presidents Cup last year.
It is the only South African member of the prestigious Great Golf Resorts of the World and also belongs to the Preferred Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Association. Golf enthusiasts will be kept busy on the resort’s world-class Montagu and Outeniqua courses as well as the exhilarating newest addition Bramble Hill.
Facilities include three pro shops, warm-up area and the Golf Academy. There are a number of other courses within an hour’s drive.

Things to do in George

The Garden Route region is renowned for its immense natural beauty. Winding along the edges of the warm Indian Ocean, the Garden Route encompasses all of nature’s wonders from huge mountains to glittering white beaches and the country’s largest remaining indigenous forest, the Tsitsikamma. A major attraction in the area is the Outeniqua Choo Tjoe, an historic steam train that travels between George and the town of Knysna, where you can pick up enjoyable ferry rides on the lagoon. It is possible to go hiking along Fancourt’s leisure trail or try a spot of bird-watching, as the region boasts over 200 species. Of course, golf enthusiasts will be kept busy on the resort’s world-class Montagu and Outeniqua courses, as well as the Links, host to the Presidents Cup 2003, and Fancourt’s newest course, Bramble Hill.
