Fairmont St Andrews boasts 36 holes of championship golf. The Torrance Course, designed by the late Gene Sarazen and winning Ryder Cup captain, Sam Torrance, sweeps its way round the hotel and down to the coastal edge. The 17th is the signature hole. After playing your way down to the rugged cliff edge, the hole meanders its way back towards the bay with the skyline of St Andrews in the distance. With the sea and out of bounds on the right and a bunker on the left of your landing area, all that’s left is the second shot, 210 yards normally into the prevailing wind with a 70ft gorge running along the front of the green, two good putts and you’ve made par. The Devlin Course sweeps its way along the rugged seaside landscape with sculpted rolling greens, undulating fairways, dramatic elevation changes and greens perched on cliff tops. This is a truly unique golfing experience.
