In the heart of Tokyo’s Shinagawa district, a minute’s walk from the train station and surrounded by office buildings, the central garden and the Shinagawa Grand Commons, stands The Strings Hotel; a deluxe destination for the discerning traveller.
Opened in 2003, and affiliated to ANA (All Nippon Airways), The Strings Hotel offers a truly unique experience that begins as you step into the hotel. Guests are beamed up via express elevators to the 26th floor where the 7 story high atrium lobby awaits, high above the Tokyo streets and miles away from the hustle and bustle of this vibrant city. Bathed in natural light, a soothing atmosphere greets you as you step out of the elevator and into the lobby. With its pond, stream, olive trees and natural stone and wood, this incorporates a design feel which is reflected throughout the public areas of the hotel.
The hotel’s guest rooms occupy the top six floors, with breathtaking views of the Tokyo skyline, contemporary, stylish designs and high ceilings. Exquisite dining from both East and West is available at the hotel’s two restaurant, China Shadow and The Dining.
The China Shadow is the hotel’s Chinese restaurant, with a panoramic view of Tokyo Bay and culinary offerings that will compete for your attention. With world-class chefs in the kitchen, China Shadow combines and brings forth the best of Cantonese cuisine and tastes from Beijing, Shanghai and Szechuan. Things to do in Tokyo

Alternatively you can take a trip to Ueno, famous for the spring cherry blossoms, and which boasts a park complete with a zoo, museums, art galleries, a temple and a shrine. And when the shopping's out of the way you can head to Roppongi, the international entertainment quarter. As the party town of Tokyo, Roppongi offers many nightclubs and is best enjoyed in the evening. For those who are interested in records, the WAVE shop is a must stop.
Lastly you can stroll down to Harumi-dori Avenue which leads from the Ginza district to the Kabukiza Theater where you can enjoy traditional Japanese stage arts such as Kabuki and Noh.
