The picturesque fishing town of Sesimbra is located on the coast near Lisbon, and offers a wealth of activties for visitors. It is guarded by a medieval castle, built in the 13th Century by Sancho II. Don’t miss the Sanctuary of Nossa Senhora in nearby Cabo Espichel, built in the 17th Century and used as the setting for films and TV productions.
Walking around the Arrábida Nature Reserve is a great way to discover the region’s stunning flora and fauna. Beach activities - including water sports, fishing, sailing, diving and surfing - abound. Lagoa de Albufeira is a favourite with windsurfers.
